Amphan relief funds diverted to leaders? Fresh ₹250 crore complaint names Abhishek Banerjee
A fire broke out on the 13th floor of Biscomaun Bhawan in Patna, triggering a major emergency response and causing extensive damage to the Beltron office located on the affected floor. Flames and thick smoke were seen emerging from the upper floors of the building, prompting the deployment of multiple firefighting teams. All occupants were evacuated safely, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
According to officials, the fire was reported at around 3:45 a.m. A security guard on duty noticed smoke spreading through the building and, after stepping outside, saw flames coming from the windows on the 13th floor. The fire department and police were immediately informed, and emergency teams reached the site within minutes to begin firefighting and rescue operations.
The Beltron office is reported to have suffered significant damage. Documents, furniture, electronic equipment, and other office assets were affected in the blaze. Authorities have begun assessing the extent of the damage while continuing inspections inside the building. Flames and dense smoke were visible from outside, drawing the attention of residents and passersby in the area.
Firefighting operations were complicated by the height of the building. Authorities deployed approximately 15 to 16 fire tenders, along with hydraulic platforms, high-rise firefighting equipment, and specialized rescue resources. Rescue efforts were carried out simultaneously from inside and outside the structure. Officials said the fire was brought under control after sustained operations, with firefighters preventing it from spreading to other floors.
Fire department officials stated that the exact cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed. Preliminary assessments indicate that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. A detailed investigation has been initiated, and authorities will also examine the building's fire safety infrastructure and emergency preparedness systems as part of the inquiry.
